Morning
8:30 to 9 a.m.
Rise and shine.
Safe to say, I’m not the earliest of birds (much more of a night owl).
To kick-start my day, I make a power-packed, superfood smoothie for a health and energy boost. I then take my daily ADHD pill. It sets me up for the busy day ahead, keeping me alert and on the ball for agency life. (And I’m less likely to lost stuff).
9 a.m. to 10 a.m.
Down to business.
First up is catching up with my LinkedIn profile (a huge part of my personal brand). It’s where I engage with my followers, make key connections, and spend important time following up on leads. Not only for the agency but for the academy too.
10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Anyone for a schmooze?
This is the part of the day reserved for ‘Compatibility Calls’ with new clients.
As a creative copywriting agency, we want to make sure prospects are the right fit for us and vice versa. And that I truly understand their goals, needs, and if/how we can bring them a shedload of value.
12 to 12:30 p.m.
Team midday meeting.
Being able to work remotely from (almost) anywhere in the world is one of the biggest perks of being a copywriter. That’s why me and Nitzan (my partner in life, crime and business) like to escape the gloomy UK winter, and head to sunny Fuerteventura.
No matter where we all are in the world, the TCC team checks in each day.
For us, work-life balance is a huge priority. So we spend time making sure everyone’s happy with their work capacity and stress levels aren’t too high. These things matter.
Afternoon
12:30 to 1: 30 p.m.
Time for lunch.
Nitzan and I make sure we take an hour’s lunch break. It’s a chance to recharge the brain and refresh for the afternoon ahead. If we’re in Fuerteventura, we’ll most likely hit the beach with a picnic (it’s a tough life, I know). And if we’re in London, we head into Greenwich Market with the team (we’re in the office Tuesdays – Thursdays).
1:30 to 2:30 p.m.
Check in with the academy community.
I love checking in with our TCC students. Reading through new work, engaging with posts, and keeping my eyes peeled for fresh talent. We’re always on the lookout for skilled wordsmiths to join our team. Or for any impressive assignments to feature in our academy newsletter.
2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Internal meetings.
Meetings. They’re a vital part of agency life.
So this productive hour is usually spent with the team working through the important stuff. Pipeline meetings, academy and agency marketing, big picture planning, or internal creative workshops. They all make our TCC world go round.
3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Client meetings.
The rest of the afternoon is dedicated to our clients, usually those in the US. Jumping on calls, charming them silly, and making sure they’re happy is super important for our business.
Where I can, I’ll also spend time mingling at networking events (online and offline), or shooting new video content for the academy.
Evening
6 to 6:30 p.m.
Daily workout.
Yep, that’s right. It’s time to pump some iron. Got to make time for some personal health and fitness.
“A thousand and one…a thousand and two…” (etc).
6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
What’s cookin’ good lookin’?
Nitzan and I are foodies (/food snobs). So this is usually time for cooking up a storm and experimenting in the kitchen with different recipes and produce, depending where we are in the world.
7:30 p.m. to 1 a.m.
Aaand chill.
My downtime is filled with a whole host of things to help me relax. Netflix, books, making No.1 hits in my mini home music studio, jamming on the guitar or piano…
Then in the early hours, I make it into bed to get my beauty sleep. So that I’m ready for the next action-packed day of running an agency.
