We hear you. It’s a lot. Wouldn’t it be nice to have it all in one place?
We thought so too. Welcome to The Social Share.

This week, we’re diving into the biggest social media trends of 2022.
Social media trends: 2022 and beyond
1. Use the creator economy to your advantage
There’s no question about it: The creator economy is here to stay, and it’s only going to keep growing. As platforms continue to evolve deeper into the e-commerce world, that only means one thing—the tools you’ll get to have access to as a creator will only boost your potential to earn more online.
This means more opportunities to share what you know. Whether that looks like developing fun and fresh ideas to promote your online course, putting yourself out there to score influencer partnerships with brands, and connecting with your audience on a deeper level.
2. Time to get real
Sure being authentic online has always been an important aspect of showing up for your followers on social media. It makes them feel more connected to you. It shows that life isn’t always picture-perfect, and that’s a good thing.
But, the effects of burnout have never been more real. According to Vibely, 90% of creators have or are experiencing burnout, after all. In response to this, creators and brands alike have been incorporating this into their content marketing more than ever before.
So, how can you include this in your own efforts?
- Take breaks from posting on social media when you feel overwhelmed (We promise your engagement will not dip and your followers will still be there.)
- Discuss your own personal experiences with self-care and burnout as an entrepreneur
- Go live with a fellow creator for a Q&A on mental health in online business
No matter what direction this “trend” goes in, we hope it sticks around for a long time.
3. Video shows no signs of leaving
According to Morning Brew (and pretty much every other publication and social media platform), short-form video will only continue to become more and more popular in 2022.
There’s never been a better time to put yourself out there. “[Short-form video platforms are] going to be more and more important channels for marketers, because they’re not just gaining awareness, they’re gaining influence over consumers’ day-to-day habits and lives,” says HubSpot’s CMO, Kipp Bodnar.
There are so many different ways you can show up on social media to utilize short-form videos. Here are some fun ones to start off with:
- Creating a quick “how-to” on one of your favorite and most-trusted business tools
- Talking about your morning routine as an online creator
- Divulging your top three ways to treat yourself to self-care after a long day
- Giving a juicy tip that ties back to your online course as a means of promotion
4. Social media gets to be more fun
Last but certainly not least: Memes are here to stay. Let’s discuss.
Not only are memes a low-risk, low-cost, and low-effort way to create engaging content, it’s also fun. It’s a simple way to stay on top of trends and connect with your audience.
What a win-win.
